| Renault UK has confirmed the ultra-fast Thruxton circuit in Hampshire will be the venue for its motorsport festival built around the non-TOCA rounds of the 2004 Formula Renault UK Championship and ELF Renault Hill House Hammond Clio Cup.
Following its highly successful event at Donington Park in Leicestershire last October, Renault UK will be inviting customers and staff to Thruxton in May. Constructed around the ever-popular International Truck Challenge, the event features the fifth meeting of the respective Renault UK championships and is also expected to feature Pick-Up trucks and Hill House Hammond Ginetta racing.
Confirmation of this event finalises the 2004 calendar for both Renault UK championships and follows an announcement by TOCA Tour administrator Alan Gow of changes to next season's TOCA Tour calendar to accommodate a date switch for the British Grand Prix.
Thruxton will act as the venue for the opening round of the TOCA Tour on 10/11th April before the series moves on to Brands Hatch Indy Circuit, Kent, on 24/25th April and then Silverstone Inetrnational Circuit on 8/9th May.
The fourth meeting of the season will take place on the Oulton Park Island Circuit on 22/23rd May before the Renault UK championships then break away from the TOCA Tour for the Thruxton date one week later.
With the British Grand Prix date now confirmed as being staged on July 10/11th, Formula Renault UK and the ELF Renault Hill House Hammond Clio Cup will rejoin the TOCA Tour on 24/25th July at Croft in North Yorkshire. The championships will then make a welcome return north of the border to Knockhill in Scotland on 7/8th August - Formula Renault and Clio Cup last having appeared there in 2002.
Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit also reappears on the 2004 TOCA Tour on 21/22nd August before the package moves on to Snetterton, Norfolk, on 4/5th September with the season finale taking place at Donington Park National Circuit 25/26th September.
All rounds of the 2004 Formula Renault UK Championship and ELF Renault Hill House Hammond Clio Cup will be 'double-headers' meaning a total of 20 races for each championship next season. Both series will also run to a triple 'dropped-score' ruling.
